The bathrooms in our house are pretty small.  I’m not complaining,  our house feels like a very roomy 1600 sq.ft. and if I were to sacrifice space anywhere to make it feel that way it would be the bathrooms.  I’ve been wanting to get one of those storage things that go over the toilet for the kids bathroom like the one below.

But we are on a strict budget and there are just other things more important right now.  Then one day I looked in the closet in the playroom and saw a little toy organizer that was smaller than I thought it was going to be when I ordered it (I now pay a lot more attention to dimensions before I buy online). I had planned to put it in our garage sale but I forgot to bring it out, thank goodness I did because I had this great idea.

The toy organizer is now my extra storage in the bathroom! I just added some wall mounting hardware and was done.  Now I have little compartments for band-aids, hair accessories, toothbrushes, and plenty of extra bins for stuff later on. The best part is I already had everything for my bathroom storage so it was free!

Looks great. And I think you’ll like it a lot better than one of the over-the-toilet freestanding thingies. We had one of those, and let’s just say that it’s pretty gross to have to clean pee off it all the time. (This was before we had a child, so imagine how much “missing the potty” there will be when you’re potty training your son.)

You are very resourceful! I love the colors. It’s amazing how such a small touch can transform a bathroom into something attractive.
