We had a beautiful day today. For a long time it has been too hot to go outside. Even my daughter who used to beg to play outside won’t stay out longer for maybe 10 minutes at the most. This morning was nice and cool as we walked to the little farmers market. It was small for sure but there was lots of fresh produce at great prices. After we were done we played in the trees and I got some pretty good pictures considering I was using my phone. We had some good lighting.
Nathan’s parents were generous enough to get us our very own grill and a few chairs for our patio as a house warming present / anniversary gift. Nathan grilled up the fresh squash and onions we got today along with some chicken breast, grilled to perfection. It was very juicy and flavorful. I love the smell of good food on a great day.
I was sure missing my mom in law’s juicer today. I had a bunch of mandarin oranges that had been sitting in the fridge for too long. I had to do something with them because I know no one was going to eat them. I would rather make them into juice but because I did not have that choice, I had to figure something else out. Instead I made three loaves of orange chocolate chip bread! Its really good and it used a fair amount of oranges. Tomorrow we have some friends coming over so they will get some orange rolls. This is a great excuse to make some yummy treats!
