A Note about the Frosting

It has egg whites in it.  Now from watching the show Good Eats with Alton Brown (if you haven’t seen it you should because it is very interesting) you have a bigger chance of getting stuck by lighting than getting salmonella from eggs (or was it getting bitten by a shark?).  Either way the point is its incredibly small.  Salmonella is on the outside of the egg.  If you are still worried about it you can get pasteurized eggs that take care of the problem.  How do you pasteurize an egg without cooking it? I have no clue, I’m sure its on the internet somewhere.
