We celebrated our anniversary on Monday, is is actually today but Nathan had Monday off.  We kept it low key this year, just went out to dinner at a nicer restaurant called Clinkerdaggers.  It was expensive but it was really good food.  The portions were perfect for me too. The appetizer just made me want more and the entree left enough room for dessert. Perfect.

For dessert we went to the Chocolate Apothecary.  Its a chocolate shop that had lots of interesting different chocolate bar flavors.  I am a sucker for good packaging, it is the designer in me.  These chocolate bars had AWESOME packaging.  I would love to design some of these wrappers.  Anyway we got a variety of strange new flavors and taste tested them on the way home.  We felt like judges on Iron Chef America or something, and it really made me want to watch the movie Chocolat.  It was a great dessert. Here are some of the flavors we tried

Picture 1
hickory smoked almonds and sea salt – SSSoooo good, the sea salt gives an amazing contrast, this is my favorite.

Chipolte Chilies and ceylon cinnamon - you taste yummy cinnomon chocolate and then warmth fills your mouth but it was far from too spicy.

Sweet Indian Curry and coconut flakes - Curry makes it sound weird but it was REALLY good

Ginger, wasabi, black sesame seeds - I was excited to try this one but it was dissapointing. You can't really taste anything but dark chocolate.

chillies and bittersweet chocolate - This was good in a different way. It was not sweet at all and you could taste the flavor of the chilies with just a tiny bit of warmth
