Food storage plan moving right along

I know I still have a lot to learn about food storage and managing it. This chart I have been working on is at least making me excited about filling in all the holes. I got a good basic food storage calculator thanks to some one who posted on my last food storage entry. I copied the formulas into Numbers so I can add other items or change certain amounts of items according to my family’s needs. The nerdy side of me really loved making this work. So now my little chart is two pages. One page is the calculator and the other is a layout of what I still need to get.

Sorry if the food storage posting is lame. I don’t have a lot of anything exciting to post about lately.

So, I don’t know how you are currently storing salt, but we learned in our ward to use empty (washed and thoroughly dried of course) milk jugs. Then you can buy the mondo bag at Costco. Super easy and super cheap! Food storage can be fun and as we see gas prices go up, it sure makes sense to have it!

I have been trying to find some good info on food storage so I have been doing lots of searching. Have you seen the blog:
It’s great. I bought an ebook from them today and it has an incredible inventory sheet and food storage calculator. It keeps track of fruits, vegetables and all the food groups, not just the basics. It even has non food stuff. It also has lots of information that I have never seen before. I love it. You should check it out too. It was $6.95 but really worth it.
