Up and Done

Well this morning as I was walking to the rec center in the blistering cold wind of Pullman, I thought that today just might be the day. Well, I summoned all my positive chi and lifted 405 on the bench press. It feels good to be able to accomplish a goal. The only problem, at least initially, was when I was done, I was left asking myself, “Now what??” I suppose next week I’ll try 415 or something. Now if I could only keep this muscle and strength without having to workout any more…

Apartment Searching… Done and Done

We have a place to live in Spokane!  It was the fastest and easiest application process we have had in a while.  The apartments we are in now have income limits so there is lots of paperwork you have to do to apply.  This place had a one page application and I mailed it in yesterday and the background check was processed right away so we got a call today saying we got the place we wanted.  It is going to be a ground floor apartment, a wonderful change from the third floor hike at the moment.  Its 1100sq.ft. and 2bed 2bath.  I think it is a good compromise from our 1015sq.ft. 3bed 2bath we have right now.  Even though we have to give up a bedroom, it is still 85sq.ft. bigger. Plus this place has a weight room and a racquet ball court.  I probably won’t do racquet ball but it will be nice to have a spot where I can workout and not have to pay for a membership.

Update

I was at the rec center today and was benching and able to do 388. I attempted 408 but it was just a lil too much. I fully expect to be at 400 by the end of the school year.

Separation Anxiety

I finally got rid of that horrible A-Line cut I had. It just did not look right on me and I felt like a slob all the time because I had a bad hair cut. Yesterday I went out and got it cut and highlighted and I was gone for a good two and a half hours. At first I thought it would be really relaxing to leave the baby with Nathan for a while but I was very wrong. The whole time I was there I was worrying that she was acting up with Nathan because she had been having separation anxiety issues and shes teething. I know he should be able to handle it because he’s the dad but it made me feel guilty to leave him with a fussy kid. So I was feeling worried, guilty, and I also missed her. I guess I am the one that really has the separation anxiety. Nathan held it all together just fine without me.

Enough with the pudge

Even though I am a full pants size smaller than my pre-pregnant days I still have zero tone around my mid section and I have had it!  I really hate to just exercise, like going to the gym or running or any of that.  If it is an activity of some sort like dance, martial arts, or gymnastics than it is fun.  Unfortunately, we are students and just don’t have the money for activities like that right now.  So I am going to try and run at least every other day.  The summer before I got married I was able to run up to 5 miles, running is not my favorite but at least I’ll do it.  Once I tried to run again about three months after Ahnna was born and I could hardly get to 1/2 mile.  So I am now going to try to work up to my old distance again, for real, because I have had it with the pudge!!!

The Benchmark

Nathan has a goal this semester that he started last semester as part of a health challenge for his pharmacy lab. He’s trying to bench 400 lbs before the end of the school year and he’s getting really close. As of Tuesday he hit 375 but he only has 4 weeks left. Only 25lbs to go!

Scrapbooking

easter.jpg

I finally managed to do my first few scrapbook pages ever! Since I have sisters and sisters-in-law that do so much I haven’t really felt the need because they give them as gifts and I felt I didn’t have the space to store the materials. I also thought that I would be one of those people that would spend hours and hours on one page to get it perfect. Well I ran out of pre-made pages on and 8×8 that was given to me by my sister-in-law Mimi and I wanted to keep it going so I had no choice. I was determined not to nit pick every little thing and waste time so I managed to whip out 5 pages in two hours and it was a ton of fun! I could have spent tons of more time continuing on it but I ran out of plastic sheets and Ahnna was up from her nap. I know I flash the picture around a lot that is shown but I just think it is adorable.
